Linn Nydrén
After graduating from Istituto Marangoni in London, Linn Nydren launched her
own label "l i n n n" late 2009. Based in London l i n n n is marketed as
an online retailer, selling from linnn.co.uk and at Asos Marketplace to
customers all over the world.
l i n n n is and will always be about the fit, the fabric and its feminine style. Her focus is on the cocktail outfit that works just as well during working hours as at the paarty in the evening. Although l i n n n always salutes the trends, the aim is to deliver timeless beautiful clothing which can be worn more than just one season.
For S/S 2012 the collection is inspired by what life should be like: fascinating, fun and full of special occasions. This season scream confidence, sexy yet elegant and a holiday in the south of France. Colours are bright and cuts are curved, expect dressed up inventive styles with a touch of the Scandinavian bohemian look.
I STARTED SOMETHING I COULDNT FINISH
I STARTED SOMETHING I COULDNT FINISH is a swedish fashion company launched
in 2009. The style is best described as dark decadens with an edgy look. Innovative
thinking is what characterises the brand and it´s based on vintage
clothing with focus on details. Every new season is inspired by a fiction muse who sets the feeling for
the collection.
Karin Malm
After finishing her education at Central St. Martins in London last
year, Karin is now focusing on her own eponymous label. She is the last
year’s winner of the Young Fashion Industry Award and is nominated for
the 2011 Rookie of the Year award by Svenska moderådet.
Karin’s work is mainly concerned with fragmented structures, both mental and tangible.
Through a high level of craftsmanship combined with non-verbal impressions, surfaces, an odd painting by a grandfather, manky old window displays and derelict spaces, her garments are sculpted through layers, gradually materialising. Working with fabrics, mainly silks with various structures and transparency creates interesting proportions and gives the wearer freedom to mix new and old garments in order to create something new.
This collection is a continuation of previous work as an evolving process, which builds upon the theme of hidden layers, memories and fragments of the past. Working with simple silhouettes but odd details such as rubber bands and hand printed edges give the garments a unique character.
The rubber band with its fragile but yet strong quality and the abstract print developed from the burned edges from previous collection stand in contrast and works with the fabric to highlight its qualities.
Resteröd
It all began in 1935 when the mattson brothers, from the small village of Resteröd, invested their savings in a pair of used circular knitting machines from G.”Stibbe” Ltd, in England. The brothers then designed a collection of men´s and women´s underwear, long underpants & linen. A shed in the back yard became the first factory building. That is how Resteröds Trikåfabrik was born. Due to the incomparable quality of the tricot their clothes became so loved by the Swedish people that the brothers needed to expand their business.
More circular knitting machines were bought and the production moved to the nearby rural town of Ljungskile. Since that day practically nothing has changed at Resteröds Trikåfabrik.
The original collection has remained untouched for almost 70 years. That is how appreciated it is. In fact the tricot is still knit by the very same machines that once stood in the shed at the mattson residence.
Today Resteröds Trikåfabrik proudly presents an entirely new collection. Tricot with the same classic Swedish top-quality as ever, in a brand new design.
